While the movie is slow at the start, it gets crazier and disturbing scene by scene, but I did feel like the movie was weak towards the end giving one of those 'I kinda get it' moments in horror movies. Overall good performances and great directing. Well let's see. It takes close to a third of the movie before something actually happens. You're pretty bored by this point, but OK you interest gets piqued a bit adn you're back to paying attention.
So you think it's going to get good but quite frankly it goes back to the slow burn which becomes tedious. We get it. Something is off with Mum/Grans.
Where's the action?
We are now nearly half way thru the movie and it's still a slow burn. All talk, no action. Why? Because a woman directed it. They do not know how to direct.
The entire plot so far relies on this question: is grans senile or is something sinister happening. It's ruined by the absurd slow as molasses burn.
As we pass the halfway mark the movie becomes intolerably boring. Literally nothing of any interest happens. You wait and wait and wait. This is no longer a slow burn, it's a slow torture. And you are the victim.
The movie is simply bad.
